Leaving Party

The first post is always a special post, so it seemed fitting to talk about a special occasion. The occasion in question being my surprise leaving party, which I recently found out was 5 months in the planning, and organised entirely without my knowledge by my amazing family and with help from my close friends.

If you have ever had a surprise event sprung on you like that without an ounce of suspicion then you will have shared the same shock, joy and emotion that I encountered, and have then realized how lucky you are to have your family and friends in your life.
It was an amazing day that started out with an innocent-enough sounding day out to picturesque Knaresborough with the lovely but quietly scheming Janelle (meanwhile everyone at home frantically party-proofing the house while I was pre-occupied with trying to row a boat) that culminated in a true Ozzie style boozy bbq and garden games, with a bit of Just Dance and star gazing thrown in for good measure.

I won't forget that night and will be thinking about it a lot when I'm out there and missing everyone. I am still eating the amazing cake which I was lucky enough to have and laughing and smiling at the messages that people wrote in my leaving book. Thanks so much to everyone involved :]
